Swann Morton Scalpel blades sterile with handle no. 10 10 pieces
Swann-Morton sterile disposable scalpels, packed per 10 pieces. The scalpel is graduated on the back of the handle (indicative only) to reflect our range of metal stainless steel handles and is marked with the CE symbol which previously only appeared on the outer packaging of the product.
The sterile scalpels are individually packaged in a transparent, thermoformed tray that provides enhanced product visibility and are designed to aid in safe passing techniques.
When the package is peeled off, the seal changes color, indicating whether the integrity of the package has been violated and the user is assured of sterility until use.
Disposable scalpels are seen as a convenient alternative to the traditional blade mounted on a metal handle, but do not provide the same feel and lateral stability when incising, which is why they are most commonly used for minor procedures outside the operating room and on hospital wards. They can also be seen in the Emergency Department (Emergency Department), where time can be of the essence, especially when treating severe trauma victims.
The No. 10 blade with its curved cutting edge is one of the more traditional blade shapes and is generally used for making various sized incisions in skin and muscle.
The No. 10 is often used in more specialized surgeries, such as for harvesting the radial artery during artery bypass surgery, opening the bronchus during thoracic surgery, uterine incisions for cesarean section, and for inguinal hernia repair.
